So first I'll tell you what we did for the party and then I'll highlight some of the fun things that happened during the party. ^^'

Number 1: Decorations. We used a ton of different kinds of table cloths, some really elegant, one I think might've actually been a curtain, and they were all different colors, and we covered the table with them. Then we had three hats as centerpieces in the middle of our not-quite-long-enough table. Two of the hats were small-ish and one was bigger. Then we had giant playing cards taped all over the walls and the huge mirror in our living room. We even had them taped to lampshades and the black streamers we'd hung on our entryway to the kitchen. The black streamers were hung to try to make the entry way look like the rabbit hole. (I suggest, if you were to do this, buying more than two rolls of streamers because ours was pathetically skimpy) We had on the sides long streamers and then shorter streamers in the middle which gave it a rather rounded look.
We had red and white roses in a huge wine glass to symbolize "painting the roses red." We also bought these dainty little vials, that I'm sure were supposed to be used as small flower vases, which we had planned to tie little tags around them with fancy lettering spelling out "drink me", but we never got around to it.
- I suppose you could call it a decoration, but maybe just an idea. All the guests came in Wonderland related costumes and I tried to make sure that the guests were varied as much as possible. White Queen, Red Queen, Alice, Um (from Umbridge), Cheshire Cat, Dormouse, Mad Hatter, March Hare, Absolum, (one of my guests even came as "the hole").
We made brownies and wrote out "eat me" on them in frosting. Frosting from a spray can.
Like spray cheese, but better.
We also bought about seven different kinds of soda pop that looked like tea. (Coca Cola (and variations), Dr. Pepper, Ruby Red Squirt (because there are red teas), ginger ale, and White Out Mountain Dew, although the Mountain Dew was put in the vials in order to look like the mysterious shrinking potion) The tea-looking soda pops we put in mismatching tea pots. (I put the bottles next to the tea pots so that they didn't get confused about which were which, but I also considered tying little tags around the handles saying what kind of soda pop it was).
We had a bunch of tea cups scattered randomly about the table for people to use.
My parents also had gone out and bought a 17-pound turkey because it was on-sale and it's weird to have turkey in January. My dad also made barbeque sauce. So it was a barbeque turkey. (I had wanted to dye the turkey blue, but my parents said no. Maybe you could...)
Because it's an ongoing thing with my friends and I we'd also gone out and bought a large 42oz. bag of regular M&M's and poured them all into a large bowl. I put a sign on the bowl saying "please separate disfigured M&M's" and had an empty second bowl next to the first. (really for no particular reason...)
That's pretty much what we did. It was a lot of fun, if not insane. We had Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland playing for people to watch if they wanted and after the movie ended one of my friends had the soundtrack from the movie on their iPod and we played it from their speakers.

Probably my favorite thing that happened was after some of the people had left seven of us all went down to the convenience store two blocks from my house and just walked around the store totally decked out in all our Wonderland glory. The only thing I bought was a pack of gum. The cashier said that our group was welcomed back anytime we wanted. It was amazing! Then another part was putting the costumes on. My cousin, a boy, was the Mad Hatter and we were trying to do his makeup. "And you can't put lipstick on a moving mouth!" Quote from his mom who was in the middle of applying his lipstick for the costume. His costume did look amazing though.
One of my cards was a Christmas card and on the inside they had scribbled out "Merry Christmas" and replaced it with "Happy Birthday." Which I loved.
Then there was the filling of the tea pots with the soda pop. I had just about finished filling the tea pot when it looked like it was going to overflow, so what does our Dormouse do? Shoves the lid to the tea pot down and makes it bubble out all over the table cloths! It was a hysterical mess. xD
If you end up taking this into consideration and throwing your own Wonderland tea party make sure you take pictures 'cause I wanna see! Especially if you make a blue turkey! ^^
Love and Pieces,
Aemili
P.S. I wish I could post pictures along with this entry but I can't because I don't have the pictures, they're all on my friend's camera. I'll see if I can post them sometime later.
